What is Restorative Dental Care?

With restorative care, we aim to restore the normal function and appearance of your smile.

Our dentist can help restore your smile – and your oral health – by fixing structural problems such as missing or damaged teeth.

The dentist at Tuscany Dental Centre will diagnose your issue and determine the right restorative treatment option to resolve it for you.

Dental Crowns in Victoria

These porcelain caps are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. Used to attach bridges, cover dental implants or prevent a cracked tooth from deteriorating further, crowns can also help to restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural shade.

Dental Bridges in Victoria

Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements. They are bonded to dental implants or existing teeth to replace a section of missing teeth. Bridges can restore the natural contour of teeth, and the bite between upper and lower teeth. They are custom-made and barely noticeable.

Dental Fillings in Victoria

Fillings are used to repair tooth damage such as a crack or cavity. Composite (tooth-coloured) fillings can take moderate pressure from the continual stress of chewing and can be used on front and back teeth, while silver amalgam fillings are durable but usually reserved for back teeth.

Inlays & Onlays in Victoria

When damage to a tooth is too extensive, it requires more than a standard dental filling. Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured, custom-made porcelain fillings manufactured in a dental laboratory. They are then permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.

Root Canals in Victoria

When blood vessels, nerves and tissues inside a tooth become infected or develop disease, they need to be removed. Your dentist accomplishes this by performing a root canal procedure.

By removing bacteria and decay and filling the remaining space with medicated dental materials, your dentist stops the spread of infection, restores function to the tooth and prevents the need for an extraction or more oral health complications in the future.

This procedure saves a damaged tooth, which is what we strive to do whenever possible, as tooth extractions may cause other dental issues and can be time consuming and difficult to repair. A root canal procedure prevents other issues from occurring.

Periodontal (Gum) Therapy in Victoria

Gum disease can infect the tissues in the mouth, including the gingiva, gums, alveolar bone, periodontal ligament and cementum. If this disease is detected early, non-surgical preventive therapy will be recommended. Otherwise, treatment methods will depend on the type and severity of disease.

TMJ Disorder Treatment in Victoria

The temporomandibular joint (or TMJ) is a hinge joining your jaw to the skull's temporal bones. Disorder of this joint can lead to numerous issues with your facial muscles and jaw, including pain. Our dentist can diagnose and provide a custom treatment plan for patients with TMJ Disorder who may be experiencing symptoms.

A smile is the universal welcome.
